Dave Biscobing
TV News Reporter / Writer

Home Page

Thank you for visiting my website.

My name is Dave Biscobing, and I'm a TV news reporter and writer in Phoenix.

I love working in news. Why? Because  everything changes -- all the time. The way we present, consume and gather news is constantly expanding and everyone is just trying to keep up. It's stressful, uncertain and crazy. But that's also what makes it so exciting.

Right now, I work for ABC15 (KNXV-TV) as a Multimedia Journalist, or MMJ. It's really just a fancy name for a reporter who does it all.  At ABC15, we've made one of the most aggressive transitions in the country for a major market station. Every reporter now shoots, writes and edits on daily deadline.

I grew up in Milwaukee, WI. A very cold but also very friendly place. After high school, I left to go somewhere much, much warmer: Arizona State University.

I didn't always plan to be on TV. In fact, the very opposite. I wanted to work in newspapers. Out of college, I was hired by the East Valley Tribune - a Pulitzer Prize-winning paper in Mesa, AZ.

During my time at the Tribune, I quickly worked my way up from covering breaking news to a lead beat reporter and columnist. And while I hate to say it, my specialty was digging dirt.

After my last year, in which my stories changed state law, initiated recalls for two elected officials, uncovered falsified police statistics and busted cops for looking at porn (still love that story),  ABC15 called and gave me a shot. Now, here I am.

Talk about good timing. Just a few months later, the Tribune filed for bankruptcy and nearly folded like many other major newspapers.

At ABC15, you can see me on the 10 p.m. news. I'm the lead political reporter. And I usually cover hard, straight stories. But I do sneak in a few light stories from time to time. In fact, I just won an Emmy in the "Soft Features" category for a story about bird poop (I'm not making it up).

So now that you've heard plenty about me, please check out my site. To the right, I have my demo reel, a compilation of creative standups, and I'll be posting some of my more interesting moments (outtakes, surprises, etc.) very soon.

At the top right of the page, just click on the tabs to see my resume, even more work examples, and my contact info.

So take a look. Let me know what you think. And enjoy. (I promise you'll laugh at least a few times)
